There is a gas strut to support the weight of the door and the "hinges" are the actuators. The actuator motor seems to be the same as the cybertruck steering motors based on size.

@GROND15 They can double the hydraulic pump. A front pump and a rear pump solves the hydraulic line issue since the rear underbody is one module and the front underbody is also one module. Current Tesla design has hydraulic brake and electronic brake as redundancy with regen as the triple redundancy. Splitting the hydraulic brake system into front hydraulic and rear hydraulic would be a cheap upgrade of current design that is also compatible with unboxed assembly.

@piccalillipit9211 Wow 1.4 M is now considered cheap. I wonder how much money you consider expensive 10 M or even 100 M?

Tesla will not show anything that will crater the sales of their current cars.

How would a loop work? Does the finish car enter the starting line again? Is it like semiconductor fabs where the toolings needed to be reused again and again to build up the circuitry?

Chat and voice AI are already very advanced so it is not really a surprise to have them on optimus. The bot just needs a high speed network connection to data inference servers.

There is still space they just deleted all the frunk opening mechanisms

The Lego underbody is unviable because of stiffness. You need the underbody to be stronger (more metal) the longer the vehicle is. Making it Lego like means you are using more metal than what is needed for the small car so that the big vehicle has stiff enough underbody.

The energy stored in the cars momentum is not much. They can overcharge the battery in that emergency situation and the battery will survive. It is not good if it happens all the time but all four brakes breaking down is a very rare event.

@iandavies4853 There is a video of Model Y assembly. Everything was snap fit + 2 bolts no welding.

@matthewdevenish1106 How much does it cost to buy a bus?

It is exported but the patent owner can demand a license fee from anyone using it outside of China. They don't go after small time players but they will sure go after big corporations.

It could be polycarbonate plastic.

The paint problem is over rated. Just paint the parts attached to a jig. They don't have to be welded together to be painted. You can just clip them on a jig then unclip them after painting.

You can drive by phone.

It has a center console there should be a USB port there. They need a port for diagnostics.

Just go to single underbody casting. You drop from 8 operator access to 6 operator access. So the drop in assembly efficiency is only 25%

You get off on the street and the cab drivers away

Prototype panels are usually fiber glass to save the cost of making stamping die mold.
