  1. Induction motors have a bit lower efficiency since you need energy to keep the rotor magnetised.

  2.  @audunskilbrei8279  As long as the magnetic field in the stator is rotating at a different speed than the rotor the rotor remains magnetized. And with the rotor magnetized it will induct current into the stator coils. So you need to supply a low current in the stator to keep the rotor magnetized and then the rotor will strengthen the current in the stator coil via induction.
