 @rakau123 If Elon was sane he would have not started a car company and a space company at the same time. That is like doubling your already sure chance of going bankrupt.

It is one piece underbody not one piece car. In fact it is actually two pieces. The entire underbody + the battery pack.

It actually works very well. You just reduce from 6 super assembly into 4 super assembly. The front, middle and rear underbody can be combined into 1 without compromising ease of assembly access. In fact in their unboxed animation they did combine this three assembly module before attaching the other assembly.

@themonsterunderyourbed9408 Unsprung weight can be reduced by just using smaller wheels. What is harder is fitting the brakes, the reduction gear and the motor inside a smaller wheel. It can be done it is just a matter of balancing efficiency, torque, rpm and handling.
