What are the bugs? Why is it a show stopper?

@pixelbart I want to understand where the problem is. If the problem is the balance between softness and durability then can we solve it with computer simulation. If it is really an optimization problem then computers are now better than humans in optimization. If durability is the problem then use machine learning to optimized durable designs.

@cameronmacdonald6525 This is not cut and dried. Spring constant of rubber is a function of frequency. Tesla has reduced harshness in their model 3 Highland without sacrificing efficiency. They did this by adjusting the frequency response of the rubber compound so that they dampen only at the specific frequency that is related to road harshness.

@pixelbart Then use more rubber on the structural support. Post frame vs stick frame construction. Load is more concentrated on columns so they use much thicker wood.

@Gr1mPenguin The point still remains. Less harshness does not equall less efficiency. If you can improve suspension it allows you to stiffen the tires.

@cameronmacdonald6525 The point is you can dampen road harshness away while using efficient tires. You can have both efficiency and smoothness without breaking any laws of physics.

@cameronmacdonald6525 Reduce the wheel diameter then the whole wheel is lighter solving the problem of heavier tire. Increasing the tire stiffness increases efficiency and since the whole wheel is lighter due to smaller diameter now overall efficiency is higher. Solve road harshness with adaptively tuned shock absorber to compensate for the stiffness of the tires. All of the stated problems solved without breaking any laws of physics.

@terry94131 I'm not fit enough to run now. But when I was in college I used shoes with steel toes for daily wear. And yes I run with them every time I am late for class.

@StinkPickle4000 How did you know people don't want them when they where not even available to buy. Refueling is a lot easier than changing spares. Yes you don't want them but did everybody not want them. Can they not sell them to soccer Moms for a premium.
