  1.  @pengpeng4965  China was reporting wrong numbers. Given the population of Hubei and the reported infected and death numbers by China the world thought it is as contagious as an ordinary flu with slightly increase lethality. I even thought that the massive hospital China built is just PR by local official who is overreacting. Then Italy happens and we finally have reliable numbers and clue as to the serious situation. China lied so the world was late to react. If the world would have known what is happening in Wuhan like they know now what is happening in Italy then they would have prepared a lot earlier. South Korea and Taiwan has prepared themselves but that is because they know not to trust China's reported cases.

  2.  @hongzhang3784  I blame China for their cover up. This disease was detected in November they only admit it on January. That is 2 months where asymptomatic can travel around and infect the world. Our government was afraid to issue travel ban on people coming from Wuhan because they are afraid of China's reprisal. I blame them because we have chaotic lockdown that is already to late because China needs to be appease. When our government tried to lift the travel ban to Taiwan because they seem to have the disease under control. China said we need to lift the travel ban to the mainland too. They don't care that Wuhan was still having uncontrolled infection. They just think our country is small so it can be bullied. I blame China because they are the reason our country did not have rational scientific response instead having to prioritize China's politics over saving our countrymen's lives.
