They are expecting a big hit on bitcoin impairment and prepared for that as their negative spin. It turns out the impairment is pennies to Tesla's profit. So they are stuck talking about the irrelevant minuscule impairment.

Larry Chan So Trump is loser because the world hates him. Too bad his poor diplomacy skills cause him the election. He is still the loser as a consequence of his action. What is he going to do invade Germany? What about you Germany detrone your pretender king are you going to offer your life to seek vengeance.
1
Larry Chan That is right. No one is foolish enough to try the might of glorious Germany. Except Trump his foolish action cost him his reelection. Merkel showed Trump whose boss and Trump was promptly fired. Loser Trump is fired. Glory to Germany.

@rubberband7341 Trump is a loser. "The biggest loser". Now people are crying that Germany plotted for his loss. Biden already recieved Merkels blessing. The world already recognized Biden as the next President. Trump is done. I expect great comedy when the secret service drag him out of the Whitehouse in January.

Short position have infinite risk. Only those who think they can print infinite cash hold large short position.

Did you not watch the video. Ghost Kitchens have higher utilization and requires smaller floor space this means more profit to the business owner. Restaurants that converted into ghost kitchen to survive will not convert back.

@felizh82 To train an AI you need to either generate the data or download the data. Open AI downloaded it from the internet now you can just distill it from DeepSeek.

Short is not the same as long. It will be very easy for hedge funds to manipulate against short position because they can force a margin call. Unlike longs diamond hands does not work for shorts

They are on the wrong side of history close sourcing could not stop distillation.

The Americans are waiting with their pockets open for the billions of dollars going in. Just ask Sam Altman how fat his pocket has become.

You buy a stock. You can earn money buy lending the stock to institutions. But earning money by lending takes time so instead you sell the rights of the expected earnings with a discount to people who can wait for the returns of lending them. Selling swap gets you money quickly that you can use to buy more stock to use for more swap. The house of cards fall when institution does not want to borrow anymore because the hedge funds are now afraid of shorting stocks.

Yes the entire population will move up by making a significant fraction of your economy collapse.

He would say the profit was a bleep. And then change the topic to questioning if Gigafactory 3 can start production this year. Which sets the new goal post after Q3 when we will have reports of GF3 starting production. They will then ask if GF3 can do volume production and assume that the initial production numbers will stay stagnant for the whole 4th quarter and declare ramp up is impossible.
1
@Felix-s9z7i The idea is that production becomes very cheap with robots that producing products locally is cheaper than shipping the products from China. If robots are assembling robots he can win on transportation cost

Bart Van Looy You can lock in profit by buying puts. One contract can hedge 100 shares.

Justin Woodall You are looking at past value while most of the money capital is looking for growth investment. The problem is you do not fundamentally understand the market. There is a large amount of money that is being stockpiled on companies that can show robust growth. Tesla has shown it can grow robustly year over year. And even when hit with major economic disruption cause by the pandemic they have shown to be resilient to the crisis. Any investor who are only looking for safe investment is not going to invest in any stock they will invest in an index fund tracking the S&P 500. The creation of index funds fundamentally change the market.
1
Justin Woodall If I want safe investment I invest in index funds. If I want better returns then growth company will give me that. This money will not stay invested in a company until the end of time. It will be move into other companies that show better growth way before the value of the company comes into play. Profitability are only considered for risk assessment. How likely is it that this growth company will disappear before I can execute my exit trade. Tesla has shown that even in a major worldwide crisis they will not disappear and that they can continue on their growth plan. You can disagree with this strategy but don't expect the market to follow your strategy. Earnings per share is the biggest lie. Companies have zero obligation to distribute their earnings to the shareholders so why would this metric dictate the price of the stock?
1
Justin Woodall You can diversify on multiple funds tracking a big index. Also there seems to be myth that the money the fed created will disappear into thin air. That is not how it works the money created will cause inflation so money will be less valuable but it is still reall money you can still use it to pay your taxes. And those with plenty of money will not want their money to lose value. Investing money that is being inflated into companies that have proven to be resilient is the best way to keep or increase the value of your money.
1
Justin Woodall Buying corporate bonds is just saving the banks not the company. Corporation is still liable to pay what is written in the contract. Only instead of paying the bank they will be paying the government. This has no bearing on the stock market.

john lin It does not matter why would you continue paying mortgage above market value.

Starlink is not for urban. There is a limit to how many user antenna Starlink can service in a given area. Starlink would most likely charge higher on urban area so that they can lower the price for rural user.
