rdmo83 Canada has failed the real test of sovereignity and that is protecting it's own citizens and interest. To be a sovereign they should prioritize Canada's interest instead of US interest. The ambassador have pointed a way out of the situation. What did Canada do fire him?

It is very clear he does not know what he is doing otherwise he would have used all his political powers to prevent the arrest from happening. Extradition treaty is not above the countries sovereignity. If an action leads to more harm to a nations citizen then that action should not be taken no matter what agreement or treaties you have with other nations.

Einstein is dead.

He does not know what he is doing. The first time I heard the arrest I know that China will grab Canadian citizens. He should have acted to protect Canadian citizen instead of preserving extradition agreement. The US don't care about following agreements that they signed anyway so Canada can do the same. A nations first mandate should be protecting it's citizen and that should be the Supreme Law before any other law.

@sodadeconstruct5435 Do you understand the concept of protecting your citizen. Because a sovereign nations number one mandate is protecting their citizen not extradition.

A nations first mandate is protecting it's citizen. That should be the Supreme Law above any other law. If you are sacrificing your own citizens for other nations benefit then you are a failed nation. Canada have chosen US interest over canadian citizen interest they failed to be a sovereign nation. Hiding on the excuse of rule of law is hollow when you are clearly ignoring the supreme law. The Iran sanction is also not legal in international law so Canada have a second excuse to ignore US extradition agreement. Facilitating illegal acts for other nation is not following the rule of law even if they have treaty that compels them to do so.

@SilvanaDil Do you really think US will care what China will do to Canada. Unless China will deploy an invasion force on their border nation. US will not give a damn. Also an all out ban on chinese consumer goods will hurt US and doing it slowly will warn China to pivot their business. Chinese worker will lost out but their government will just order them back to the farmlands.
1
@SilvanaDil The CCP will just blame US sanction as the reason why workers are being force back to farmlands. A nationwide propaganda together with nationwide training program with modern farming techniques and subsidizing farming tools will do a lot to appease the anger. And those people who are still angry will have a foreign nation as a target of their anger.

rdmo83 Excuses at the end of the day Canadian interest is hurt because of Canada's action in championing US interest. Canada's soveriegnity failed. A sovereigns primary duty is to protect it's own interest. If your own legal system prevented you from doing that then your own legal system is your manacles towards soveriegnity. It is why vassal and puppet states exist. They also have legal system but their legal system do not allow them to protect their own interest.

rdmo83 Did the US protect Canada's interest? No US screwed Canada over with tariffs and then force Canada into the China-US trade war by using the extradition treaty. Canada's action would have been logical if US is actually helping Canada instead of harming Canada's business interest while profiting in the process. If US was helping promote Canada's interest that would make a Canada a sovereign nation since it has enough power that other nation finds beneficial to help them instead of screwing them over. But the US is just laughing over Canada's misery. And they even make it worst for Canada when Trump makes it clear that the arrest is politically motivated by the US and he has no problem to use it as bargaining chip in their own trade dispute with China. I am not a China troll in fact I am in favor of Canada. It's just Canada's leaders are making all the wrong move and seems to not realize the reality of the situation. Questioning Canada's soveriegnity will hopefully motivate Canadian's citizen to held their leaders accountable for their poor performance in international politics. It is like seeing a train wreck in action. Canada's response only make the situation even worst.

Darrell Welder fabricator That is just preparing for all contingencies. With D.C. lock up with thousands of troops. Extremists might attack other places in the U.S. If that happen then the military needs to be prepared for mobilization.

@jackoplumkin6412 Yes he receive one but it's for his paper for photoelectric effect. It can be argued that General Relativity is more ground breaking but quantized photo electric effect is the foundation of quantum mechanics. So that paper recieving nobel price should be viewed as having equal stature to relativity papers.
