  1. OK so if you can run for office but not hold office what’s the point of running for office? I don’t think the supreme court is going to rule that Trump is free to run for president so long as he doesn’t actually take office if he wins.

  2. The Supreme court is populated by corrupt ideological hacks, so there’s no reason to expect them to be consistent or principled in any ruling they make. The one thing that’s interesting is that if they make an obviously lawless ruling in favor of Trump they damage themselves quite a bit in the public perception and appear bought which even a corrupt person doesn’t like. After trumps idiot attorney called out Kavanaugh specifically saying that he owes Trump, the court could hardly fail to be aware that many people expect them to issue a corrupt ruling in favor of Trump and that has got to wound their pride.
