With all due respect, I think that any attempt to separate criminal acts into official and nonofficial actions of the president is a non sequitur. if it’s a criminal act, it can’t be unofficial act of the president by definition. The president takes an oath to faithfully execute the laws, and there’s nothing in the constitution which defines any crime as an official act or power of the presidency. That would be absurdity anyway even if there was.
