  1. A lot of the analysis seems reasonably accurate, but did the Russians really send their best? If so they haven’t been anywhere near as good as predicted and their ability to control the battlefield with superior electronics intelligence gathering and reconnaissance hasn’t panned out near so well as predicted. They haven’t even been able to establish the kind of dominance of the air predicted. But most surprisingly perhaps is the incompetence of the Russians in such basic things as concealing their vehicles and preventing them from getting bunched together stalled on a highway as perfect targets. The Russians have taken territory but it looks like they’re stuck in a quagmire that they can never get out of given the determination of the Ukrainians.
