Interesting thesis, but you omit the historical underpinnings of what you call "envy." Facts matter. The injustice of today is the result of historical injustice which permeates the culture. Law enforcement is only one example of the institutionalized racism in the U.S. Social justice has nothing to do with making people more equal. It is about righting the wrongs of the past which are so deeply rooted in today. It is not about lifting people up or keeping people down. It is not revenge. It is correcting an insipid wrong that persists due to the existing power structure which all the European philosophers you quote helped erect.
