  1. ***** Even the Audi 7 RS beats the Tesla  Model S P85D in a drag race easily. And in Autobahn speeds the Tesla has no chance at all. As you mention Tesla gets a lot of free advertising and some people seriously believe all the hype. It's a fast car but to compare it against serious sports cars, and only a short drag race, doesn't say a lot.  In all these drag races I've seen on YT, only in ONE case the ICE car used it's LC, and it was BMW M4, that also cough the Tesla after a short while. But ALL other cars are on idle when the races start. Car & Driver ran  Model S P85 against a M5 on track and it was over 2 seconds slower than M5. And after only ONE lap the Tesla shut down it's power to minimum to prevent battery fire as they start to over heat (maybe the reason for those fires until they changed the software).

  3. Sorry, meant Audi RS7 of course. I mentioned M5 because some people get this ide from these unfair drag races that Tesla is a sporty car. It's not, the only thing it has is full torque at zero rpm. But that advantage is short lived. Even M5, which is a heavy sedan, can easily beat Tesla as soon as it gets twisty. But Tesla fans, most of which have become even more obnoxious than GTR fans, easily get misled by all those drag race videos, where the gas cars sit on idle and of course lose these drag races. Only video where the gas car uses it's LC or even rev the engine is BMW M4.
