Wouldn't help. Mclaren would demand a new run with even stickier tires. It's their standard procedure during H2H.

I guess Mclaren was there with different tires to make sure they won. It's their normal procedure in H2H situations.

Emad Ahmed I think they are more worried about daily driving conditions (bad B-roads, rain) than track driving conditions. After all, it's not their track car. GT3 and GT3 RS are their track cars. And in Autocars Best drives car last year, Mclaren 650S had no chance against GT3 and the number one, 458 Speciale.

Emad Ahmed Agreed, but performance is not the only thing that makes a car expensive. But I agree that Porsche cars are too expensive and they have the highest profit margin, about 25% profit per sold car. But people keep paying those prices and Porsche made 2 billion dollars in profit last year. That is an enormous profit for such a small manufacturer.

Emad Ahmed Problem is people keep paying those prices. It's like Iphone. Everybody knows they are not better or not much better than a few other phones. Yet they are more expensive and a whole lot of people pay those prices.

But it's also a lot lighter. Don't forget that. It's more of a track car than a sports car, like the other 2. Mclaren 570 GT is more of a sports car and comparable to these 2. But a Mclaren being fast is no news. It's the one thing they always concentrate on, rather than making desirable sports cars. Hence why they lose value so fast.

Emad Ahmed Maybe they are. All I know is Mclaren cars lose value very quickly. Many people have been really surprised at how much a Mclaren loses in value, and you can buy a barely second hand one a lot cheaper than it's new price. Porsche on the other hand doesn't lose that much in value. Maybe it's all the speculators jacking up their prices to make money.

You should ask which one is more desirable, because no one will drive them like that on roads. And a few tenths doesn't matter that much. 911 T is not the kind of sports car with WOW-factor. It's a 911. Mclaren cars have become like 911. All of them look the same, with miner changes and different trim levels of that "legendary" 3,8L engine. And it sounds terrible at idle or low revs. And you're left with that Audi. Well, at least it got a great sounding NA V10. Always something. It's the least boring of the 3.

To my defense, I did say that at least R8 has a NA V10 engine :) But considering competition, well, they are a bit boring. 570S sounds very uninspiring at normal speed. It's only exciting at very high revs. So boring most of the time. And 911T is just another 911. But way too expensive. And regarding the new R8, at least that last gen looked good. And it's an Audi no matter what :)
