Over priced? If anything they are selling them cheap. These days with cheap hp, you can put 700 hp in anything for a few bucks. But as everything else in life quality is expensive. A cheap house has walls and ceiling and protects you from weather. Just like a castle.

Ferrari are thoroughly in a different class, above all others.

Sorry, I'm sure you meant Mclaren sending an entire team of technicians and a lot of tires, AND demanded multiple runs so that they could improve their time and beat 918, both at EVO and Motor Trend. But as always it's much more fun to only point finger at the nr 1.

mrm95 I know, I was just joking, he mentioned that the cars are already great and didn't need all that, but Ferrari was too controlling over all aspects of a test drive, and made sure the car is at it's best for a specific track. And that was years ago and Ferrari have forgiven him since long ago. Thing is Mclaren is doing even worse stuff and it's as if it's fine as long as it's not Ferrari. People crucify Ferrari for the smallest thing but let others go.

It lacks only 1000 rpm (8000) compared to 458 (9000). Considering it's a smaller engine with turbo, it's still best sounding turbo engine out there.

Nicholas Smith They sound good but not nearly as good as 488. But that is a personal preference. Mclaren's engine sound is one of it's weak points. When you drive it hard, maybe, but at low revs, not so much.

Gazman Yes, but the good thing is Ferrari, contrary to others, doesn't give you max torque at 1500 rpm, but increases torque with every higher gear. That is so to give the driver a feel of driving a NA engine. Mclaren, Porsche, Corvette, they all give you max torque at very low rpm and then you barely need to shift any gears.

Typical owners of all these high performance cars can barely use 20% of the available performance. You have to be a pro driver to get near the limit. It's just too much. That is why a Cayman with 300 hp is such a great sports car. People can actually drive them hard without flying off into clouds.
