They didn’t have EVA suits so no repairs would have been possible.

What about the people on the lower deck?
2
That’s what I remember too.
2
Not enough fuel
2
If you double the weight and triple the cost.
1
You would essentially need the same amount of fuel to land that way as you did to launch.

Infinity
1
Idiot, how about that.
1
The first 4 shuttle launches had only 2 crew, no need for four for a rescue mission!!!
1
It was due to the outrageous costs.
1
If they made it to 30,000 feet, then they would NOT HAVE NEEDED to bail out. And maybe you should look into the shuttle modifications as a result of Challenger.
1
Or Moonraker.
1
I know that woman’s husband, not very funny.
1
How about how little money Congress provided to NASA?
1
Maybe you should actually LISTEN to the video.
1
Only none were available nor ready to do so.
1
It’s the units that we use in the only country that has put people on the moon, so STFU!
1
You need to listen to the video.

The shuttle was already “overweight” and the additional weight would have been all on the nose, messing up the CG as well. Nice try. However this was considered for the National Aerospace Plane (NASP).

Wrong

Idiot

@global4express which missions were with Columbia, the first shuttle?
1
The shuttle broke up at over 100,000 feet, unsurvivable in an open ejection seat. The Brian K-36RB showed serious thermal damage at only Mach 4.3.
1
Any much too heavy and how would the crew on the lower deck eject? Nice to you to reference Kevin’s site though.
1
They don’t print their own money, it has to come from Congress, and they never give enough or even what is asked for.
1
People in the only country to land people on the moon, that’s who.
1
@Marinealver I don’t think so
1
Air wouldn’t have repaired the shuttle.
1
Idiot
1
NASA is an US government agency.
1
Apollo had no backup plan.
1
Listen to the video
1
Listen to the video!
1
Totally wrong on the ejection seat.
1
It’s been like that for years. Antilock breaks and stability control weren’t mandatory on cars until recently. You can build a very safe car, but then no one would be able to afford to buy any.
1
Yeah, like every nation that has sent a man to the moon.
1
Idiot
1
Because there wasn’t one on board.
1
It really started in 2016.
1
Especially in 2016.
1
If they were able to get to 30,000 feet then they wouldn’t have NEEDED to bail out!
1
It didn’t take very long to go from normal to death.
1
Imagine the only country that has put people on the moon. Idiot
1
Then the shuttle would have been worthless.
1
Google it
1
Why would there be a temperature difference?
1
Idiot
1
It doesn’t work that way, otherwise it would have been designed to ALWAYS do that.
1
Idiot
1
I kind of doubt that there were any commie members, therefore “indeterminate”
