  2. Responsible people can. He obviously didn’t properly plan for retirement by having a house paid off and putting money into IRAs.

  3.  @soph7230  He was in his prime years during the best economic times of the US. My dad was a “working class” person who is now 85, and he has been retired for about 20 years, living in HIS PAID OFF HOUSE!!! He was the single income earner for his wife and 3 kids. We went on vacations every year, he paid for most of his kids’ college costs, and he was RESPONSIBLE with his money, including investing in several IRAs with are still mostly undrawn from. People need to learn how to live within their means and PROPERLY PLAN FOR RETIREMENT!!!!
