@rostbif The risk are far less dangerous than fission nuclear power plants we use today. But, fusion power is just in development stage. Nothing will come of it in decades.

Unlike today’s nuclear fission power stations, Fusion power has no need to worry about radiation leaks or explosions with radiation that lasts for several hundred years. Your villain is trying to make something that powers the factory to produce goods for everyone in a safer environment.

@empressblessed5051 Nobody has developed a fully functioning fusion power plant yet because it is still a research. People figured it out after discovery of nuclear physics. People on this planet need energy more than you understand. Any country who holds large amounts of cheap energy sources become the most advance nation on earth. This is the reason to develop a safer energy source. China is the only country taking the lead in this research, today.

The reason Wion doesn’t report other countries development on fusion energy is because there are no new breakthroughs. Any country can work on it. But, it is not possible to hold it. There are no know available containment for nuclear fusion today, except magnetic field. And China has achieved new breaks through in record for hold fusion for more than 7 minutes. US fusion power reactor are the producing positive energy from energy used to contain fusion plasma. But, the U.S. can’t contain it for more than 7 minutes. Wion has mentioned that US fusion energy research can produce positive energy from it.
