I had a cat with feline dwarfism. She was born literally into the palm of my hand and was the size of my thumb. She only lived 2 years but she loved HARD and enjoyed life to its fullest capacity. When she passed, she was the size of an 3 month old kitten.

@dakotamabry1645 I was devastated, yes. Simba was born in my backroom and weighed about 1 oz at birth. She wasn't breathing so I wrapped her in a facecloth and rubbed her between my hands until she started breathing on her own. She was a month old before she was the size of a newborn kitten. She taught me a lot though! How to treasure life, enjoy each moment and be grateful for what you have. She was pretty awesome

@Wyonative08 mine? Simba was born of an average sized mother and father with average sized siblings. Her stature and accompanying health issues were completely accidental. Her 4 siblings all found loving homes , i kept Simba in part because I loved her dearly but also because I felt it unfair to her to pawn her off to someone who was unable or unwilling to properly care for her. I did not plan to have a cat with dwarfism.

@dakotamabry1645 hugs you tight. Adopting unwanted, elder animals and animals with physical and health challenges takes a special sort of person. So many if them are passed over because, as you say, they may not live long so its especially heartbreaking. But rewarding too knowing that their brief time with us is filled with love . Currently, I have a precious little girl kitty with a twisted hip. She can't climb or jump but she is my joy.
