  1. awww Thumbelia reminds me of my Simba. Simba was born in my back porch from our cat Angel. When she was born she was the size of my thumb, nose to tail. When she was 2 weeks old, we had to rush her to the vet who diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection. He looked at this tiny kitten in the palm of his hand and kind of laughed and said he had never treated a kitten so small! He had to dig out his gerbil scale to weigh her to figure out her medicine! (she weighed 2oz!) Angel was FIERCELY protective of Simba. Simba was her special baby. Simba only lived 2 years, sadly. Fully grown she weighed a little over 2lbs and was the size of a 10 week old kitten. Unfortunately when she was 2 she developed a pin sized hole in one of her lymph nodes and it filled her chest cavity with fluid. Where we live the only place to even hope to treat something like that was the vet collage in PEI - a 6 hour drive. She had a 50 % chance of getting there alive and then that would be cut in half to survive the surgery. Since she was suffering we made the heartbreaking choice to help her move on. Simba loved life! She played hard and loved harder! I miss her .
