@sabomarov7279 The oligarch existed way before 1918 they were ruling from Fes they just did not rule all moroccan tribes, they brought french protection to protect them against the Berber tribes. Whether they speak french or arabic that does not matter, the ones in control are the french who created moroccan flag and traced the borders and started to call morocco an 'arabic country' all of this is still used to this day, nothing major has changed. The Arabisation of the country is a way to get rid of indigenous people and create a fake identity not just in morocco but in all North Africa. This was beneficial to the french and to the arabs nationalists loyal to the middle east and not to their homeland. After the French were gone, the moroccan authorities enforced Arabization of the educational system and of public life that transformed more than half of moroccan and made them think they are arabs and eliminated Amazigh for too long. This is not something you can deny it is known even Oxford university talked about this Arabisation problem. Below is an excerpt of the research that was published in English on the Oxford university's official website:
"Berbers actively participated in the struggles for independence in both Algeria and Morocco, often in leadership roles. This pattern would continue during the decades after independence, even as both the Algerian and Moroccan states placed supreme value on the Arabization of the educational system, and of public life in general. The state’s overall view of Berber identity was that it should be consigned to the realm of folklore. However, even as the number of Berber speakers continued to decline (because of Arabisation), there arose a modern Berber (Amazigh) identity movement that demanded a reexamination of the underlying premises of their countries’ collective identities, one that would bring the Berber language and culture to center stage. It also demanded genuine amelioration of the dire conditions of poverty that characterized much of the rural Berber world. As ruling regimes struggled to maintain their legitimacy after a half century of independence, the Berber “question” now took on a new salience in North Africa’s increasingly contested political space." Back then (1600s to 1956), Berber tribes were independent from the central government of Fes. Arabic was only used in education and religion, not in public life. Darija is not arabic, it's a mixt language of Amazigh, Arabic, French and Spanish, it is based on Amazigh language and have Amazigh conjugation verbs and words, and is influenced to a lesser extent by French and Spanish, real Arabs in the middle east do not understand it, it is invented by Berbers and was spoken by less than 10% of moroccans mainly in Fes and Rabat, 90% of moroccan spoke Tamazight.
Also, I want to add that 'genetic studies on Moroccans' that is published on Wikipedia show that all moroccan are of Berber origin, those moroccan who speak Darija are Arabised Berbers (Berbers who lost their Amazigh mother tongue language and think they are arabs). The Arabs from Arabia who invaded North Africa in the 7th century did not contribute to the gene pool because they did not last, they were defeated by Berbers and kicked out from North Africa.
