It's that they're a common item almost all Americans buy, and have been one of the things Republicans attacked Democrats on. "Look at these egg prices, it's all Democrats' fault. WE will bring prices down." And since Republicans have taken power the price of eggs has steadily increased. And people have been throwing this back against Republicans. "Where's my cheaper eggs? How are these fascist policies designed to destroy the lives of Americans bringing down the cost of eggs?"
