In the newer Fallout games, they went crazy with the nuclear power, and basically had every car powered by a small nuclear reactor. A lot of people got annoyed with them kind of missing the point... but whatever. But... how feasible would such a thing be? Could you drive a nuclear powered car without being irradiated? How much background radiation would such a thing produce? Would you be leaving a trail of slow death everywhere you drive? Also, in the newer games, when you shoot said cars, they explode in mini mushroom clouds. But would a tiny reactor have the same type of explosion as an actual bomb?

@johan.ohgren Power armors, yes. There's already exo-suits today. Super mutants, no. That's just silly.

I get that the blast radius itself for radiation is relatively small. But as I understood it, that fallout travels with wind and such, and could end up covering a massive area (like putting a drop of ink in a very slow moving body of water, it would slowly spread downstream, or downwind for the actual radiation). Just how far can such travel? I think I recall hearing something about 10-20 km or so. But I'm no expert.

Yes, Curie is the best companion. I mean, other than Dogmeat.

Rather than cables, I think a better idea would be a system for wireless energy transfer. After all, while cables might be EMP proof, with a war going on and explosions everywhere, the land cracking apart in regions... there's no guarantee the cables would be intact. So some sort of wireless energy system that could allow special generators hidden in Vaults to send energy to receivers could work.
