"Not left or right, but forward" That literally means nothing. You either fight for the people, or you fight for your personal power and the death of the country. Yang wants his party to syphon votes from the Democrats to let his Republican fascist allies have a better chance of winning.

@john.premose Basically they tend to use an X/Y chart to map out political views. The X (left and right scale) goes from socialism on the left to conservatism on the right. The Y (up and down scale) goes from authoritarianism on the top to liberalism on the bottom. Now, there's lots of different variants on this chart, and even this is a bit simplistic, but it's a good way of getting a general idea of where parties stand. Democrats would be about center of the chart on the X, and lower on the chart on the Y (because they believe in freedom). Republicans would be off the far right end of the chart with conservatism, and off the top of the chart with authoritarianism.
