Also to be fair, it's IDF leadership, not just all IDF members. Same as it's Israel's government that's the problem, not all Israelis. Remember that military service is MANDATORY in Israel. So it's not like people have a choice about signing up and serving their time. And there's many in the IDF who refuse to carry out immoral orders, and generally spend time in jail for it. A cousin of mine has been sitting in an IDF jail for six months now, because he refused to open fire on unarmed civilians (who his lieutenant told him were Hamas allies and thus a threat and should be treated as armed combatants).
