There needs to be laws in place that limit executive wages based on the pay of the lowest paid workers at the company. If the CEO wants a raise, those at the bottom MUST get an equivalent pay raise.

@SuSpicious9748 Honestly, I have no issue with someone making over $400K a year (though yes, they should be paying vastly more taxes than people who make nothing). It just means that if a CEO is bringing in a million a year, then the lowest paid worker at their company should be making bank. Typical hourly wage is based off 2000 hours a year (50 weeks of 40 hours). So a CEO making a million a year is getting about $500 an hour. Which would mean that the lowest paid workers at that company would be bringing in $50 an hour minimum. If there's balance in pay, then to hell with the cap. The CEO's can make as much as they want, they just have to make sure everyone else is doing well too.

@shadowprince4482 Something I've seen proposed in other countries (though none have passed yet) is a 1 to 10 pay cap. Meaning that all workers in a company, from the lowest paid intern or temp worker to the CEO have a wage scale from 1 to 10. Meaning that the highest difference in hourly pay could be a ten times difference. So if a CEO is making a million dollars a year, they have an effective hourly pay of $500 an hour. Which means the lowest possible pay for anyone at the company is $50 an hour. Let the rich make as much as they want, but they have to bring everyone else up with them. They can't make a thousand or more times as much as those that work under them as they do now.

@MalevolentDivinity Honestly, I don't think so. I do think the highest wage at a company needs to be directly scaled with the lowest wage. But why have a cap? If a CEO wants to pay himself $10 million a year for sitting on his ass and doing nothing, then that's fine. Just think of all the workers at the company making at least $100K a year, with others higher up making $500K, some bringing in millions. That's great. Unlimited wages FOR EVERYONE.

@DJ2226 Which is why people need to support Progressives. The only ones actually fighting for a better America and not just the status quo.

@meatbyproducts ROFL!!! Complete and utter horseshit. CEO's have less to do now than they ever have. It's a completely useless position.

@mikevondebag Not at all. You're allowed to make as much as you want. Just the more you make, the more everyone under you, who actually does all the work while you sit on your worthless ass, needs to be paid.
