Well, once the Union crumbles, I know a lot of states will be asking to join Canada.

And we pay less taxes than the US. And our taxes actually GO TO HEALTHCARE.

@brianloveless2717 Ah yes... waiting two days for your surgery is terrible. It's much better to... not be able to get the surgery EVER as an American. Clearly.

@CountAkula Well, the west coast and the north east have all talked about it. I can easily see Pennsylvania and eastwards all joining Canada.

@bloodyneptune Also, the US pays more taxes.

@ Highest tax rate in Canada is 33%, highest in US is 37%.

@ I felt ill, and was near a Shopper's Drug Mart, which have attached walk in clinics. So I walked in, was seen in about 30 minutes. And later went to my family doctor the next day.

@StevenRoberts1331 No, according to the Health Care Index Canada has the FOURTH best healthcare in the world. Out of 110 countries, based on infrastructure, professional competence (includes doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers), annual per capita healthcare costs in USD, availability of quality medicine, and government readiness to address health crises... the top 10 are: Taiwan (78.72) South Korea (77.7) Australia (74.11) Canada (71.32) Sweden (70.73) Ireland (67.99) Netherlands (65.38) Germany (64.66) Norway (64.63) Israel (61.73)

@brianloveless2717 That's just a lie and you know it. If I've had to go to the ER at most I've waited a couple of hours. Why would you knowingly lie so badly?
5
@ You paid for the hospital room and meds? What kind of off the books hospital did you go to?
4
@SuperStrik9 Damn straight.
3
@nostrum6410 No, simply not knowingly lying like you are. The Canadian system needs a ton of work. But there's no reason to lie about it like you did. That doesn't fix anything.

@ The low estimate is over 26,000 Americans a year who APPLY AND ARE REFUSED healthcare die every year in the US. That's not including the estimated 100,000+ Americans who die because they simply don't seek healthcare, knowing they could never afford afford it. And then there's the 20,000+ Americans who are reported being found dead in their homes from natural causes each year (who aren't already included in either of the other previous counts).

@gitslover9834 My dad had heart problems. They took him to the hospital. Did examinations, gave him a quadruple bypass. He spend months recovering. Spent years in rehab and physio after. What did we pay? $30 a month for a parking pass to the hospital. Everything was covered by the system. If not for the parking, we wouldn't have had to pay anything.

@nostrum6410 Sorry, but you're just lying.

No Canadian wants the horrific death system of US healthcare. Canadian healthcare has some issues, but it's lightyears ahead of the US system. We don't die because we can't afford healthcare like Americans do.
