  1. Part of it is not just that you need a serious push towards socialist policies (free healthcare, education, social security, welfare, etc...) but you ALSO need STRICT media and speech laws. You know why Germany hasn't swung back to fascism? BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL. There is protected free speech in Germany. BUT NOT HATE SPEECH. Hate speech is NEVER protected. And MEDIA IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE. You don't get a FOX, or Newsmax, or the billion right wing radio stations in Germany. You know why? BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LIE. A network like FOX isn't allowed on the air in Germany because they don't let just pure lies and propaganda be spewed. They have regulations in place. So they don't have most of their population brainwashed into believing "Hitler's actually a pretty nice guy with good economic policies". The death of the US started with the end of the Fairness Doctrine. The second media was allowed to STRAIGHT UP LIE, there was no hope. They slowly brainwashed a larger and larger portion of the population, turning them into the MAGA cult you see today. Zero facts. All feelings.

  2. And they would be more successful. You have countless "leftists" telling Democrats "we won't vote for you because you're not our perfect candidate". You don't support X, Y or Z enough. You're not this imaginary perfect candidate that will literally never exist, so we can't vote. And the message that sends Democrats is "well, it's a waste of time trying to appeal to those people, so let's focus on these people on the left." The more "the left" actively refused to vote for Democrats, the more Dems moved right. Because it's a waste of time appealing to a group who've repeatedly told you they won't support you unless you do all these things that are impossible. So you look the other way, to people who WILL support you if you simply push a little more here and there on something they like. If they want Dems moving to the left then you ALWAYS VOTE DEMOCRAT. And when they're in office, you push them left. If you DON'T vote for Dems, you get Republicans who are vastly worse for the policies you supposedly care about. All those "you're not good enough on protecting Gaza" idiots on the left who refused to vote have now guaranteed the slaughter of every last Palestinian. And the people of Ukraine. Was it worth it? Destroying the thing you claimed to care about to NOT vote for someone, which only pushes them away from you.
