  2.  @choronos  YES!!! So many Republicans are in office simply because nobody ran against them. A friend of mine in ran for school board against a Republican who was running unopposed. Despite having barely any self promotion, he beat the Republican with about 80% of the total vote. People WANT to vote for someone other than Republicans. But in most areas nobody bothers to give them an option.
