  1. Exactly. You see clowns, Shriners, boy scouts, fire fighters, entertainers... all reading to kids... but somehow this is the issue that they've decided to villainize.

  2. This is glorious. Patriots trying to encourage kids to read in a safe environment, get attacked by right wing domestic terrorists who end up getting humiliated.

  3.  @mofishin2648  True points. Clowns can be rather creepy. And I do know that the Boy Scouts as a whole has had issues, but I've volunteered with the local Boy/Girl Scouts (in trips, sales, setting up stages, etc) and they've been great folks and wonderful kids (and helped many troubled kids get straightened out). As for fire fighters, when they come to read to kids at the local library, they're always in uniform, which is no different than drag performers... they get dressed up to stand out to the kids because they pay more attention that way. But yes, nobody would support the Proud Boys unless they're a right wing extremist.
