How all these lawyers have been immediately disbarred for the blatantly false lawsuits is beyond me. There are apparently no standards in the legal profession. I dated a lawyer. She was always terrified of making any sort of mistake in filing because it could mean losing her law license. But then, we're in Canada, where lawyers are expected to follow the law.

False. This has nothing to do with throwing people in jail. That requires a conviction as per the Constitution. This is about barring someone from holding office due to their role in an insurrection. Which does not require a conviction. So every Republican traitor who helped organize and incite the insurrection or gave aid and comfort to insurrectionists can be removed from office as per the 14th Amendment. They can't be thrown in prison for their role in the insurrection until they've had their day in court.

@richXPT707 I think a bigger part of that issue isn't so much that people don't know, it's that politicians throw up so much smoke and mirrors that it's practically impossible to know what's really happening without spending an inordinate amount of time researching. A politician might say they will cut taxes, and that sounds great. But how will they do it? Will it be permanent? Will it be a scam like Trump's "tax cut" which slightly lowered immediate taxes but put taxes on an ever growing yearly increase so that they will be vastly higher than they started 10 years down the line? While also giving permanent massive tax cuts to the ultra rich? And you get Biden saying there will be no tax increases for any household making less than $400,000 a year. Which is great. Except the Republicans and right wing media start shouting that that affects "middle class people" (even though being in that range puts you in the top 2% richest people in America by earnings). So you have Republican viewers who are convinced than Biden is going to increase their taxes (even though most of America doesn't make more than $75,000 a year). Until there's a way to stop all the lies, slander, propaganda and conspiracy theories out there that cloud policies, I don't think most people will be able to make truly informed decisions. It's just far too much work to dig into every policy someone has to find out the actual truth.

Riots in the streets? There will only be riots if the orange traitor is NOT locked up for life for his open treason. Republicans literally proved Clinton innocent.
4
The orange traitor has the right to remain silent. What he lacks is the ability.
3
The orange traitor KNOWINGLY AND WILLFULLY stole and tried to hide government documents to profit from them. He's openly admitted as much himself.
3
The orange traitor asking Russia to hack a US citizen is an act of treason.

Republicans love to claim that basic medical precautions are like Nazi Germany. It's pure deflection. There are Republicans asking for literal book burnings. Republicans ARE fascists. For years now people have been able to predict exactly what Republicans would do by simply asking "What would a fascist do?" They are following Hitler's playbook word for word. Since the 1800's German has had strict vaccination mandates to protect the health and safety of the population. It's never been an issue, it's just common sense. There only time Germany DIDN'T have such mandates? When Hitler took power. He removed them making up lies about "freedoms", as he watched the German population die of easily presentable diseases because he wanted to find his ubermensch. Vaccine mandates are NOT fascism. Removal of them IS. Because Republicans are literal fascists in every way.

This is one of the major failings of America. It's practically impossible to charge people with SERIOUS crimes, like treason, sedition, terrorism, embezzlement, corruption, etc... Meanwhile charging poor people and minorities with nonsensical and trivial things is done automatically. You can arrest someone for drug possession, even though it's legal for them to have those drugs. You can charge someone with stealing a car without even checking their license or registration. Cops can gun down innocent, unarmed black people, and be told it was justified because they were black.

Hunter got his with harsher penalties than anyone else in his situation ever has or would.

If Comey didn't make a big deal about investigating Clinton to reaffirm that she was innocent (which he only mentioned later) she likely would have won in 2016 and saved America from four years of death and destruction under the worst president in US history.
2
Roger Stone has committed vastly worse tax fraud than Hunter, in the hundreds of millions... and got a slap on the wrist. But Republicans don't like bringing that fact up.

If Pam Bondi doesn't get approved I could see Trump just keep Merrick Garland, who's been the best AG Republicans have had. Garland went out of his way to protect Trump at every turn.

The orange traitor losing the right to his name would be the greatest thing ever. Watching him cry over it would be epic,

But ruling the president has immunity means Biden could make himself godking of America and rule for life.
1
Normally, this wouldn't be an issue as the best people for the job should be assigned. But we know that all Republican judges are abusing their power to benefit Republicans and enrich themselves. So with this illegitimate court it would make sense to have those three recuse themselves.
1
@paullandry8181 No, the fact that it's an insurrection by every definition and that the world watched it happen made it an insurrection. You can just admit that you don't care about the insurrection and openly despise America and the Constitution and want the fascist traitor to be your king... rather than knowingly lie and make an ass of yourself by trying to claim that the insurrection didn't happen. I would honestly respect right wingers more if they just were honest and said they hate America, than constantly lie when they and everyone else KNOWS they are lying.

Basically women should immediately hand a man a child support form after having sex. Start doing that, this law will be struck down in a week.
1
There needs to be laws to prevent outright lies from politicians. It's one thing to make empty promises. It's another to blatantly lie about things and misrepresent yourself to the constituents. That's basically voter fraud. They're voting for a you that doesn't exist. Of course, it would require politicians to give a shit about the voters first.
1
As always "bankruptcy" for the rich means hiding all their money and often ending up richer in the end.
1
Then you're knowingly lying.
1
Well, the economy is VASTLY better under Biden. So should Biden be the godking of America? lol
1
@skepticalextraterrestrial2971 Yes. Very much so. Nobody ever gets charged with the gun violation he committed. And for the tax stuff? He was late paying his taxes, but paid them off. There's endless stories of right wing rich pricks, like Roger Stone, not paying taxes for YEARS, and committing multiple acts of tax fraud... and they get a slap on the wrist. Stone was taken to court for not paying hundreds of millions in total taxes... and got something like a $50K fine... and not a day of probation or jail. So yes. Hunter is facing much harsher penalties than anyone else in his situation ever would.

If the SCOTUS rules that the president is above the law, then that applies to Biden. Who could then do whatever he wanted, like kicking all Republicans off the SCOTUS. Or removing all Republicans from office. Hell, Biden could make himself king.

Trying to remember my Batman lore (especially with all the reboots and retcons and such)... But weren't the only two villains Batman "created" Joker (who Batman caused to fall into the chemicals) and Two Face (as it was Batman's actions that got him disfigured). Everyone else was just... there. Ivy, Croc, Penguin, Hatter, etc... they all just came about. Batman didn't do anything to make them who they were.

They made the statement that their new OGL won't include a thing to let them steal your work. Yet they had the part that said that agreeing to the contract gives them the right to use whatever you make, without question, in perpetuity, blah blah blah, the usual legalese for "anything you make is ours and we have full control".
1
It claims that the new OGL will fight against hateful content and such. But that's nonsense, because that ALREADY existed under the old OGL. So they didn't need a new one to "add" such a thing. Under the old OGL they could already go to any individual creator and say their content is offensive and deny their use.
