  214. To each their own, & we all come from different World's & beliefs, 'cause where i come from the "average Western woman # of 7" would be considered high, while the guys in comments (God help them) some said 15 was low! Wow. / From the study cited, ".. a woman's sexual satisfaction is related to her loyalty & commitment", Something is terribly wrong if a scenario like that would effect her loyalty & commitment. Like a continuation of whatever was messed up in her morals/mind/emotions for her to have a high body count to begin with. Even if you're in the promiscuous "sex positive" camp, you have to admit, if you didn't think it was a moral issue before, it certainly becomes one if its impacting commitment/loyalty for them when they choose such type relationships. I can't say those women are incapable of ever having a healthy, loving, committed, long term relationship with a good man, but I'd be surprised if many were & suspect studies on it would only confirm this. Then again, they probably wouldn't be with a good man to begin with either by her choice or his, but i suppose it happens sometimes. Also, If a woman's not climaxing with her mate she needs to either do it herself, or ideally help her man know how to make it happen. Sexual satisfaction has zero bearing on loyalty & commitment for a woman who isn't a walking red flag quilt display, so i don't want guys to feel like they have to be the equivalent of a Porn star to keep a woman "happy." A woman who loves you truly does just want YOU. Making her c*m real hard would just be a cherry on top, ha, ha. ~April

  343. Nope. Prov 31:10-31 talks about her virtue & being a good helpmate: 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates

  515.  @jgw9990  Whatever the person chooses as their way of conveying appreciation.  I'll give you an example. Back when I worked at an assisted living facility caring for elderly & disabled people, one of the elderly gentlemen on my list to watch over when he showered to be sure he didn't fall, was a D-day paratrooper Veteran who later worked on NASA's early Rocket program. He was advanced in age, used a cane, & wore an eye patch. I'd help him dry his back, legs, & feet. Lay out an outfit & help where needed. I'd also spend time visiting with him when i was caught up on other work & had a little time to spare. (At that time i worked 3rd shift, so this was early morning, before their breakfast.) One day after drying his feet & starting to help with socks, i noticed his toe nails needed to be cut; he said something about setting up a pedicure appoint, as we weren't allowed to do that for them, but since I knew he wasn't diabetic I offered to do it for him if he wouldn't tell anyone. It was nothing special, but he had tears running down his face as I finished trimming them. I'll never forget that.   Later on he told me he had his son gets me something to say how much he appreciated me. I told him we weren't allowed to accept gifts, but he insisted. It was gold earrings. It would have hurt him if I didn't accept them, so I did. It meant a lot to me, but his tears that one prior day said & meant even more than the gold earrings because it conveyed how his heart felt in the purest possible way.      If you're asking for advice, every person & situation is different. Whether a "thanks", a gesture of some kind which could be a gift, or can sometimes be expressed with no words at all--a warm look & a little smile, however you do it,  just earnestly conveying your appreciation can mean so much.

  573. I was reading tonight & happened across a passage by George Matheson about the exact scenario you mentioned: " 'And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.'  Mark 1:12 It seemed a strange proof of Divine favor. 'Immediately.' Immediately after what? After the opened heavens and the dove-like peace and the voice of the Father’s blessing, 'Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.' It is no abnormal experience. Thou, too, hast passed through it, O my soul. Are not the times of thy deepest depression just the moments that follow thy loftiest flight? Yesterday thou wert soaring far in the firmament, and singing in the radiance of the morn; today thy wings are folded and thy song silent. At noon thou wert basking in the sunshine of a Father’s smile; at eve thou art saying in the wilderness, 'My way is hid from the Lord.' Nay, but, my soul, the very suddenness of the change is a proof that it is not revolutionary. Hast thou weighed the comfort of that word 'immediately'? Why does it come so soon after the blessing? Just to show that it is the sequel to the blessing. God shines on thee to make thee fit for life’s desert-places—for its Gethsemanes, for its Calvaries. He lifts thee up that He may give thee strength to go further down; He illuminates thee that He may send thee into the night, that He may make thee a help to the helpless. Not at all times art thou worthy of the wilderness; thou art only worthy of the wilderness after the splendors of Jordan. Nothing but the Son’s vision can fit thee for the Spirit’s burden; only the glory of the baptism can support the hunger of the desert. "
