  1. As an Air Force fighter pilot I can tell you with certainty, that the Air Force is kicking themselves for not choosing the F-23 Black Widow 2! As far as maneuverability is concerned, it wasn't put through the paces, Northrop held back and didn't showcase its abilities and it cost them! The F-23 didn't need thrust vectoring nozzles, because the horizontal stabilizers at a 50° angle accomplish the same thing and more effectively! The speed of the F-23 is still classified to this day! They say it was unstoppable! Unbelievable! The range on it was superior to the F-22 and more stealthier and that's why Japan is interested in it, to go against the Communist Chinese threat! Another thing you may not know, is if they upgraded the software on the F-23 to modern standards, are you ready, it would be a sixth generation fighter! That's how advanced this aircraft was and still could be! I hope Japan brings it back without changing a thing except the software and rub the F-22s nose in it and then some! I personally don't like the F-22, because I know what the capabilities are of the F-23 and I consider the F-22 inferior to it and as a fighter pilot, I want the best and the F-23 was the best and still can be!
