  2. Ask the auto unions. As wages went higher, people stopped buying and auto union employees became ex employees.

  4. Unions can only work if customers find their products and services worth it. Keep in mind even high paid union workers like bargains and cheap goods :)

  5.  @draxthemsklonst  Many bonuses are not cash payouts but stock. Even if bonuses were ended there would not be a huge pile of extra cash available. Executive salaries make a nice talking point for Lefties but it is the day to day expenses a company has that makes the difference.

  6. The important thing will be if customers are willing to pay higher shipping fees when they order on line. UPS will announce their new rate increases in Sept or October. If the rate increases are high enough, this could also invite lower cost competition into the package delivery business. Who knows? UPS might be the reason brick and mortar stores may make a comeback as it will be cheaper to drive to a local store than pay high shipping fees on online orders.
