The intent was to promote an orderly society, by violence if necessary. The fact gun use was indicated the amendment adopted the most modern devices then available. BJG's argument could be extended to free speech only if paper newspapers or paper based books are used. And maybe stone tablets. Two very poorly thought out arguments.
