@jmac3327 Section 8 is a form of mixed housing. Every place that started getting Sec 8 usually has gone downhill. Mixed housing is a bad idea.

@lozoft9 Sec 8 people usually have little money and they can not support better quality businesses that would help keep city business centers vibrant. Sorry, I have never seen a place that went Sec 8 ever became better. Those areas always go into decline.

Mixed housing is a dumb idea. People who need low income housing will probably need additional social services. Keeping these people together will allow more efficient use of social services provided including things like transportation needs.

Section 8 was never a great idea. Public housing crafted towards people with low incomes should keep them concentrated in order to improve the efficiencies of support services they will need. Mixed housing is a dumb idea. Dumping poor people in the suburbs is even dumber yet.

@lozoft9 Singapore doesn't tolerate bad behavior. America is filled with careless slobs. Vienna wouldn't work here just for that reason. I have never seen a mixed housing neighborhood make a city become better. As for public housing the program was never really run well and things got sloppy. I am aware of a few place that were run on the Singapore model and they were neither blighted or unsafe. I know it can be done but the soft in the head liberals won't allow it.
