The Republicans did continue to push for civil rights after the 1880's but were continually blocked by the Democrats. The Civil Rights Act occurred only because things were blowing up in the face of the Democrats in a big way.

I am not British. The British played the game everyone else did but they just got very good at it. In the end did it hurt India? The British gave the United States a good start. Anyway, the slave trade and the lunacy of the Communists in China are two different things and being a colony of the British saved the people of Hong King a LOT of grief and pain.

I do think I was clear from the beginning, the people of Hong Kong were far better off with the British.

Brassstringed: It's Democrats that block a lot of jobs. How many cities are now run by blacks and doing poorly? You can march all you want, If you do not have the skills sets, you're finished. Why aren't Democrat allies helping to train American kids for jobs instead of sucking up cheap HB! labor from India? Why are Democrats happy to promote illegal immigration and then they block better paying jobs because they see them as too dirty or so yesterday? You don't see the Republicans coming out with the never ending laundry list of things you can't do or you are supposed to do or how to think. Their policies would be more conducive to economic development.

Alan Fisher would support a rail project even if it dead ends in a swamp.

If I right, being under the British flag spared Hong Kong some of the lunacy of Communist China like the Cultural Revolution. I can see why many H.K.'s are concerned.

India is a liberal democracy, Communist China is not. I'd much rather see the people of Hong Kong in a liberal democracy than a totalitarian state..

To Edward Ellis: Blacks who question Democratic Party policy become an "unblack" and are cast into the outer darkness. The dead silence on one Obama policy failure after another is an example of plantation (and racist thinking) on the part of blacks. Why obsess over David Duke when you can't get a decent job? Which is more important? Blacks did quite well under Reagan, their downhill slide started under Clinton.

Taijifufu Sometimes the real world busts in and wrecks your little fantasies of wonderfulness. Hell, ask Obama about it. He thought a shake, a slogan and a smile would solve everything.
2
@Edward Ellis: You're a prime example of the plantation mentality. You nailed it down tight. By the way, following Obama's Secretary of State comments, watch out for air conditioners. They're gonna get you killed. Hahaha.
2
To Edward Ellis: Blacks have been voting in their "best interests" for 50 years. And here you are saying it's everyone else's fault. After 50 years maybe it's time to rethink.
2
To Edward Ellis: I never said blacks were lazy or stupid (stupid outside of their unquestioning support of the Democratic Party). Did David Duke cause the shootings in Chicago and other cities? Did David Duke allow illegals in? Is David Duke the Democratic Party nominee saying he'll bring in even more? Did David Duke cause the lowest income growth in years? Did David Duke pull our troops out of Iraq prematurely allowing the chaos that is going on now? Or in Ukraine? Was David Duke partying with the richest people in America while telling the rest of America they had ti too good? I can go on and on but you get the idea.

I was once chatting with a Korean who said, the U.S. didn't drop enough nukes on Japan. Depends on where you were at the time :) Someone suffering from Japanese predation in the early 1940's or a comfortable middle class kid 50-60- 70 years later.

Free people is always logical but I never expected you to agree with me. I will say China did produce one great thing: Gong Li. Great work there China.

You had up to 8,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans who went to fight in the Imperial Japanese Army and many of them returned to the United States. Historians like to ignore this and some other questions about spies in the J-A population when discussing the matter. Also put into the camps were Italian-Americans and German-Americans though in far lower numbers. These people have all but disappeared and are never mentioned. You could feel good there were people who stepped for the Japanese-Americans sent to the internment camps and brought the matter to the Supreme Court. The court ruled the people put into the internment camps had their rights violated and that they can't be put into any long term detention until they had their day in court. Also not all Japanese-Americans were sent to the camps. If you lived in states outside of California you weren't bothered with and the then Governor of Hawaii spoke for his citizens.

It's good you are onboard with Hillary because Asian-Americans have a higher than average income so they will be needed to help finance Hillary's proposal$. America thanks you guys.

American political cartoonist Thomas Nast came up with the elephant and donkey symbols.

Racist is used way to often and too often out of context. The Leftie/Progressives have done their misinformation campaign work well.

After the mirage known as Barack Obama, Trump could do no worse. Yea, Obama has been that bad. I should add both Hillary and Bernie seem to have their enemies list.
1
+Martin Speed You I wouldn't kid, I respect you. Trump brought a wrecking ball to the whole political process and because of him, Sanders got his chance. Keep in mind Democrats considered Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan two warmongering lunatics yet neither had any major military action and with Roosevelt getting a Nobel Peace Prize (and he EARNED that one).

Concentration camps is just a term that sort of meant a way station. The intent was to move these people to the east coast states in the south.

This video sounds more like we do not want this to work so we will make sure it doesn't work.

I picked up on that too. They just do not want the idea to work. Better you go into deep debt with a stick home (which we all know go up in a weekend with no effort involved).
