I was once chatting with a Korean who said, the U.S. didn't drop enough nukes on Japan. Depends on where you were at the time :) Someone suffering from Japanese predation in the early 1940's or a comfortable middle class kid 50-60- 70 years later.

You had up to 8,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans who went to fight in the Imperial Japanese Army and many of them returned to the United States. Historians like to ignore this and some other questions about spies in the J-A population when discussing the matter. Also put into the camps were Italian-Americans and German-Americans though in far lower numbers. These people have all but disappeared and are never mentioned. You could feel good there were people who stepped for the Japanese-Americans sent to the internment camps and brought the matter to the Supreme Court. The court ruled the people put into the internment camps had their rights violated and that they can't be put into any long term detention until they had their day in court. Also not all Japanese-Americans were sent to the camps. If you lived in states outside of California you weren't bothered with and the then Governor of Hawaii spoke for his citizens.

Concentration camps is just a term that sort of meant a way station. The intent was to move these people to the east coast states in the south.
