  4.  @henrylicious  Both low wage workers and politicians will demand it. I was reading there are estimated 6.7 million evictions that will be done in 2022. No politician will want to be the person that throws people out on the street. Not a chance. Maybe the best solution is the federal government to go back into public housing and lease units at below market rates, maybe tie rent to the 25% of income for rent that was considered the standard for years. It is clear the private market will not have any solution to the problem of ever increasing rents. The government will have to act, even just to maintain social stability.

  5. The federal government will have to start building more public housing. The private market will not fix the skyrocketing rental prices. Handing out housing vouchers only allow landlords to keep rent higher.
