I am not aware of people having limited gun ownership at the time of the adaption of Constitution. If you were not allowed to own guns unless you were part of a militia, why weren't guns seized in mass back then? Weak argument Ryan.

@danporath536 Yeah, even back then the Democrats liked to outlaw guns :) They never change :) But that doesn't undermine the base argument, if it was illegal to own guns outside of service in a militia, why weren't guns seized?

I doubt a knock down of Roe v. Wade will cause a mass movement. The media may make it look like that.

@danporath536 Such laws would be deemed unconstitutional today. I unaware of any gun seizure in the United States from it's founding.

Since people were allowed to own guns without being part of a militia, membership wasn't a requirement to own a gun. As I pointed out the federal government did not seize privately owned guns. But owning a gun is useful if you were a part of the militia. The argument you are making is based on state laws.
