This is all rip the headlines from websites then run on here and just repeat them You had a bearing failure on a rail car. Bearings can fail. There is no great conspiracy. Lobbyists do not matter and no one asked Norfolk Southern why they followed the practices they did. You could investigate was the bearing from a bad batch? You can ask will more detectors make a difference in this type of accident? You might ask can the detectors be reset to a lower threshold that would allow faster detection or would that cause false positives? Did load shifts in the tank car place excessive weight on the bearings if the car was going up hill or downhill? Liquids can slosh back and forth as the rail car travels along.

  4.  @stephm.3407  New railroad tracks would not prevent testing, further research or additional cleaning. Any train crew going over the new track would have next to no exposure, well, that is if they don't stop the train and roll themselves all over the roadbed.
