  2. We wasted a ton of money on the mideast, including Iraq and Afghanistan. Russia on the other hand is not a friend of the U.S. and they should be kept in check. This is where the money should be spent. A defeat for Russia would destroy their credibility among the anti-U.S. bloc of nations they are trying to create. There is more to the Ukraine situation than Ukraine itself.
