  1. Western values is used as a cover for several social policies that doesn't play well in many other countries. I think you might guess which policies they are. Very early on after the 2001 World Trade Building attack some of those policies that caused the attack were being discussed, but the media had a collective ooops, what are we doing and switched over to the vague phrase "western values". Again, you can guess what those issues were.
