@Nowhereoh To me Yang is just another Democrat with another welfare program. In order for him to rise, he must be first and foremost a good Democrat. He has said a few things I agree with but he always leaves me feeling he runs because he wants to be liked, not for anyone thing he stands for. I liked him a lot at first but where he really could be a stand out... he sat down. So I cooled off. The Democrats will give him a little room to run, but they'll pull the leash if he goes off the walking path. On the Democrat side of the primaries, Gabbard was the one who wouldn't play the game. You can see how that worked out for her.

That would require integrity and a real set of balls.

If Andy was for the little guy, he would have said the Democrats held up relief because their big donors were not getting enough out of the bill.

Rich blacks are welcome in the Democrat Party. The Republican Party is drifting back to it's roots where the Democrats today are the college educated elitists who like talking down to everyone else.

Yang is a one issue candidate. Take UBI out of the picture he has little to say.

@SR-lh4rm The Alaska program is a royalty program, it is NOT a UBI program. The amount paid out is based on oil sales (which the Democrats wish to destroy). Yang intentionally mislabeled this program, like Yang likes to blur legal and illegal immigration.

@SR-lh4rm Europe has a VAT and those countries are broke with a growing poverty rate (pre-Covid). A royalty program is based on earnings from units sold be it movie ticket sales or barrels of oil. No sales, no royalties. That simple. UBI is an income supplement based on a predetermined pay out regardless of sales or incoming revenue. Yang's VAT would not have covered the full cost of the program and would have required general tax revenue to make up any difference. The UBI program always had the odor of paying off people in lieu of finding them real work. Barely enough to keep them alive until they die off. I would suspect after a few years people on UBI will start demanding much more as $1,000 doesn't go very far. Then the VAT starts going up.
