  2. The public had no problem enjoying these products. Like EV's today, they are toxic waste sites on wheels. Who talks about recycling old EV's? Few worry about it.

  4. I have an ancient air conditioner that still runs. I has Freon refrigerant in it and produces a cool like none of the new varieties can. You don't feel clammy, you feel cool. During summer, the most valuable thing I own.

  5.  @Bremberry  I also have a fancy new high efficiency with the correct refrigerant and it runs neither as cool nor more efficient than my old clunker (which was a very early model high efficiency unit but same rating). I'm willing to risk a little global disaster for being cool on the relatively few days I use A.C.
