None of this would be a problem if Russia didn't invade Ukraine. This is Putin's War and it was started because of Putin's ego. He wanted to be a tough guy. The end result: Old ladies have no place to live in Ukraine and China's economy is taking a hit. I am not sure why China would say anything remotely in defense of Russia.

Look at the history and then ask yourself, Why would Ukraine want to be close to Russia?

@gunsumwong3948 Do a little research. Compare how many times The Soviet Union/Russia attacked their neighbors versus how many times has NATO attacked The Soviet Union/Russia. Include the Berlin Airlift of 1948 in your research. And all this despite the United States and the United Kingdom helping the Soviet Union during World War 2. And the Soviet Union encouraging North Korea to go into South Korea thinking the U.S. wouldn't aid South Korea. Portraying Russia as some virgin wearing white raiment is quite a stretch of the imagination.

@gunsumwong3948 LOL... you are funny Gun Sum Wong and wrong on many levels but I am not sure how this justifies Russia destroying apartment buildings in Ukraine. By the way, I am not Anglo-Saxon.

@gunsumwong3948 Most of Ukraine wants to keep Russia at a distance. They have very good and solid historical reasons for it. Just like Finland does. Always remember Gun Sum Wong, NATO formed because of the past actions of the Soviet Union. NATO is the response to Soviet/Russian provocations.

@gunsumwong3948 The Soviet Union was always Russia and a few places that raised goats. Russia was always the power in the Soviet Union. Your argument would carry more weight if Russian history showed Russia treated other people better including the Ukrainians.

@gunsumwong3948 "with a vast network of supplying industries which are areas Russia has since recovered." You mean Russia invaded.

@gunsumwong3948 Russia did invade there too. Maybe you can see why NATO was formed years ago. And after several Russian invasions, maybe that is why Russia fears NATO? Guilt? Hmmm... maybe?
