  1. Afghanistan harbored a terrorist force. I can't say China would be very generous if a terrorist group wrought destruction on their land. Afghanistan went with the Taliban, under U.S. occupation they had more freedom and a chance to build a freer society. And the U.S. spent billions of dollars to help them achieve it.
