Comments by "AQuietNight" (@AQuietNight) on "China's opening vs. U.S. closing? Jeffrey Sachs explains the shift" video.
Jeffery is reading talking points but I doubt he ever talked to one businessman. China seems to be working on the colonial model of buying raw materials and then exporting finished goods. They'll buy soybeans from Brazil but little else. At some point China in order to keep the peace will have to close Chinese factories and start setting them up in countries they now just buy raw materials from. Japan went through this back in the late 1970's and 1980's.

The United States can make $8,000 ev's too. But you'd have to reduce pay to the same level of Chinese workers. That would not be very popular. China would also have to allow it's currency to float like the U.S. dollar does. A low value currency allows China to sell more overseas. It has nothing to do with corrupt CEOs. It has more to do with a high cost structure society. It has nothing to do with Chinese efficiency. You want to pay workers more, you will have to pay higher product prices. It is not rocker science, it is basic economics. And it applies equally to a Capitalist economy as it would a Socialist economy.
