@Cheung Chau Actually, the U.S. gets drawn into some. Like in the 1930's when the U.S. embargoed war materials to Japan as a protest against their invasion of China and Japan bombed the naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in retaliation. No good deed goes unpunished.

@Cheung Chau "Japan was planning to expand into Asia long before they invaded China or bombed Pearl Harbor." Not material to what I said. Japan was in the process of expanding. So called American hegemony was usually a reaction to the actions by other countries. 1950 South Korea is an example. As for Ukraine, Russia invaded the country. As for Taiwan, the United States has said Taiwan must decide, not be forced into reunification.
