Tsai Ing-wen is perfectly welcome to come to the United States as is Xi Jinping is. I have every confidence that when Mainland China has the same rights and processes the citizens of Taiwan enjoy, there will be unification. As for the members of the U.S. Congress, it is their job to keep fully informed on the issues of the day such as developments in Asia.

@pottedrodenttube American Exceptionalism was a term used to describe an era in the early days citizens would band together to accomplish a goal such as a public work without waiting for the government to do it. The author Alexis de Tocqueville (a Frenchman) thought this was exceptional compared to how many other societies operated. That is American Exceptionalism. As for the purpose of the U.S. Congress, I was merely pointing out their prescribed purpose. The U.S. House of Representatives is in the U.S. Constitution the eyes and ears and voice of the American public.
