  1. You paid taxes but you also voted for the city government that did not protect you. It wasn't about race, New Orleans is heavily black and run by blacks. No attempt by New Orleans to attract industry, encourage business and try to develop local wealth. You just wanted the federal government to helicopter in big boxes of money to hand out. Your city was so corrupt the money the federal government sent to make stronger the levees and dykes disappeared into the New Orleans corrupt political machinery. Then you got flooded out.
